Being able to accept that opens the door for better things, which opens the door to stronger, more efficient, more useful communication thats going to result in a lot of cooperation in those negotiations that youre doing. Those precedents that work best for you in your negotiation, youre going to make those continue to happen. To me, gratitude means appreciating and acknowledging what you have. Meaning, you could write it on a piece of paper and then just order it in how youre going to read it. Love it. When we think in a scarcity mindset, it keeps us stuck there and that fear is our brain telling us, I want you to be safe. I love that. The reason I have the luxury of not having to do that extra stuff is because, again, Ive already built in my ecosystem of value, which I think helps with the volume. You have more about what you want. I have many times in a negotiation where Ill say, I will acknowledge my feelings. And I gave you an example of something where you write. You wrote that book. Ive had several people tell me, The thing I learned the most in your presentation was that I need to think about my counterpart. I do know that people dont do that but Ive not had anyone ever say that to me. Which is why sometimes, people, they get to a hundred thousand dollars theyre making a year. I realized that Im not a clinical psychologist, and the definition isnt exact but I always explained the ego in the context of us having three minds. And by the way, it could be inside your head. Maybe its something that we still havent discovered that we can see, feel, taste, or touch. In fact, I have my time of gratitude every single morning, my prayer time, my meditation. Thats negotiation. Its human nature, and thats fine. But I had a really bad year in 2008 that snapped me out of things and made me realize that all I really need to be is consistent with this. Its definitely a ripple effect. But its certainly, with or without publishing anything else beforehand, what I really have is Ive got 20 years as an entrepreneur, 20 years of marketing consulting experience, a bunch of years of copywriting. What I mean by that is when youre relaxed and youre confident and youre a good person, you know deep inside of you that youre going to get what you want and things are going to work out. Anytime somebody is voluntarily involving you in a process, that is your indicator right there that you have value because were self-interested beings. But then, and Im borrowing this term. For anybody thats listening to this, whether they believe in whatever their idea of it is or not, you can believe in the power of gratitude. She was going through a nasty divorce, nasty separation. Whereas when you do the method for the sake of enjoying the method and basking in either the feelings or the images, or whatever it might be for your unique experience of enjoying that piece without worrying about how its going to come, when its going to come, why its going to come, youre indirectly opening that energy up for the thing to come. By hook or by crook, things come to you. We see that all the time in the term win-win, which I have a lot of issues with that term. And Im like, Cool. And right in the middle, weve got the ego. People will buy from you. And oftentimes, I am thinking about the same things over and over and over again and feel this incredible gratitude for those things that have to do with my wife of 30 years, my children, the business that I have, the things that I enjoy, et cetera. I texted you because I was like, Oh my god. I felt that result came out of gratitude because I was able to think of different ways to ask questions of each of them that put them in different mindsets, place, and position so they could act in a way that was consistent with what they were trying to attract and not based on scarcity, because they had grandkids and all that stuff. You are the expert, so please tear what Im about to say to shreds if Im misleading people. A lot of times people have a frustration with the Law of Attraction where theyll be like, Youre telling me that if I think about this job promotion, Im going to get the job promotion. Youre thinking about it with good feelings. When people email me, Im actually the author writing back, whereas some people theyll never expect to hear back from the author.
